it s always difficult to get good info on these teams so i open a thread for sharing picks and info for the tourney.

opening match:

Angola- Mali: Angola pk @ 1.83and over 2 @ 1.87 !! 2 units!!

i looked as a refference at the results of the World Cup qualies (also being the qualies for ACN).
Both teams are not really good and Mali qualified as one of the best 3rd place teams in their qualy group for this event.from their 6 games in that group stage 5 reached at least 2 goals. they played Benin, Sudan and Ghana and got a 2-3-1 record.
In the second round of group stage qualifiers 5 of 6 games have seen at least 3 goals

Angola qualified as being the host team..in terms of WC-qualifier they already got elimanated in the 2nd group phase by finishing 2nd in a group behind Benin. 5 of 6 games finished with at least 3 goals..speaking of home advantage what they have here for the tourney they beat Benin 3-0, Niger 3-1 and drawing to Uganda 0-0.

as a common opponent Mali played vs. Benin 3-1 and 1-1 in qualifiers, while Angola played 3-0 and 2-3

as a summary: both teams seem roughly at same level to me, but home advantage could be the difference for Angola. the pk line is a safety net anyway.
i like the over very much, as both teams score a lot, but ar both vulnurable at defense as well...african matches are usually low scoring, but 2 is a bit low for these teams. having also Algeria in their group is an extra motivation for both teams to go for the win and playing offense as this will be the crucial match for going to next round.

rec (1-0) +1.74 units (pushes rec as no play)

Monday

Ivory Coast- Burkina Faso: Ivory COast -1.5 @ 1.98 and over 2.5,3 @1.93

Ivory Coast is the big tourney fav here and probably the best african team. they faced Burkina Faso already during 3rd stage of WC qualfiers , where they finished 1st and BF 2nd in group...IC won 5-0 at home and 3-2 away. anyhow all six IC games in the qualify have seen at least 3 goals (group included Malawi another ACN-team) and BF had 4 of 6 games going over the number(both unders vs. Malawi).
i expect both teams to go thru to next round, but IC should leave no doubt who is the tourney fav here.

agree, but somehow i dont trust them at that prize..they struggle normally on offense, so it might be a 1-0 winner..but too much chalk for me on the ML and not enough fire power for the hdc...just watching how they do.

BOL anyway

rec 1-2 (-0.26 units) pushes rec as no play

Ivory coast was the much better team, but not able to score ( a general problem with african teams)

Tuesday

day of the under

Nigeria-Egypt: under 2,2.5 @ 1.80

two african top teams clashing here. that usually means low scoring games. both teams as shown in qualifiers have strong defenses and struggle on offense which should help the under

Benin- Mozambique: under 2@ 2.06

both team on a similar level..maybe small advantage to Benin whi is picked by many as a dark horse in the tourney.
anyway both teams are big time under teams. during qualifiers 3rd stage from 6 games Benin had a total of 12 goals in their games, while Mozambique had only 8 goals total in 6 games....should be a 1-0 type game (if at all)

BOL to all and input welcome

Anybody have thoughts on.....

ZAMBIA (+0.5) -120 over Tunisia
CAMEROON (-1) +101 over Gabon

I am leaning to both of these plays.

i also like cameroon as they have beaten Gabon twice during qualifiers.
with Zambia i like the under...both teams very low scoring, but we had that yesterday too and it went over in a hurry.
i will just watch games today, but that s what i would go for.

Damn, I see so many people losing money on "African Backyard Soccer Competition" - just stop it fellas.

There are other games out there that aren't a coin flip like these games are.

that s what i am thinking too right now..at least we have to go thru the first matches...teams might be scared to play or whatever reason there are to perform or not...and as seen again so far this year...the offenses are not really good, but some of the goalies evrybody can score against...sometimes it s like girls soccer..you just have to hit somehow the goal...difficult to predict...probably easier to safe money and start concentrating on the winter olympics (great sports to cap like luge, speed skating, ski-ballett @))
